Aneighbor and I chatted over coffee and croissants outdoors at our favorite French Café. My eye caught a man walking his dog, about to pull out a poop bag, when another Café patron approached him, saying harshly, “You’d better pick that up!” The dog owner looked startled and replied, “I always do!” I nodded with a thumbs up to show support. Without realizing it, my face must have registered the distress I felt on behalf of this wrongly accused man. My friend and I resumed our chat when another patron approached me and said, “You have the kindest face!” She made my day.
