Feijoada à Transmontana (Portuguese Bean and Pork Stew)
This authentic Portuguese feijoada (pronounced fay jow aa duh) is a stew of beans with beef and pork. The name feijoada is derived from feijão, ‘bean’ in Portuguese. It is widely prepared in the Portuguese-speaking world, with slight variations. Feijoada is a common name given to dishes from Portuguese-speaking countries such as Portugal, and Brazill (its National Dish ) where it is made from a mixture of meat and white, black or red beans, usually accompanied by rice.
