The 14-11 Westfield High School boys basketball team went on a scoring frenzy to swamp the 12-11 Chatham Cougars, 81-41, in Chatham on February 16. The Blue Devil boys scored 20 or more points in three of the four quarters.
Senior Shane Sheehan rolled in 21 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, and added three assists, four rebounds and a steal. Max MacEacheron banged in 14 points, including four 3-pointers, and added a rebound. Ty’shawn Pearson sank 11 points, including five free throws, and added five steals, five rebounds and an assist. Zach Epp finished with nine points (2 3-pointers), three assists and three rebounds. Enzo Ferrero had eight points, four assists, four steals and two rebounds.
Jake Russell had five points (3pointer), five assists, a steal and a rebound. Jonny Sica nailed a pair of 3-pointers and added two rebounds and a steal. Aidan Wall, Ethan Zhu (rebound) and Farid Habayeb (2 rebounds, steal) each scored two points. Connor Whelan had an assist and sank a free throw. Will Kirby had two rebounds, an assist and a steal. Stephen Edwards had an assist.
