The Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School softball team scored four runs in the bottom of the third inning and cruised to a 6-1 victory over the Summit Hilltoppers on April 10. Winning pitcher Olivia DiSalvo recorded 17 strikeouts and added some damage offensively, going 3-for-3 with three RBI.
Sam Friscia went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two RBI and two runs scored. Angelina Valente doubled, singled and scored once. Maddie Bogart went 2-for-3. Kate Sullivan-Massa singled and scored once. Sairah Llano had an RBI single. Emily Roof and Julia Friedrichs each scored once.
Summit losing pitcher Charlotte Yarnall recorded 10 strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with a double at the plate. Caroline Putnam went 2-for-3 and scored once. Juliana Alicea had an RBI double, walked and was hit twice.
