The Cranford High School girls lacrosse team scored five unanswered goals in the first quarter en route to a 14-7 sinking of River Dell onApril 16. Sofia Lijo led the charge for the 4-2 Cougars with four goals and an assist.
Kristina Lowe (5 ground balls) and Lexi Kruk (4 ground balls) each had a goal and an assist. Shea Matheson (2 draw controls) and Kate Zambito each had a goal, two assists and two ground balls. Lila Fernandez, Lilah Wilhelm and Shaye Burns each recorded a goal and a ground ball. Maddie Falso had a goal and an assist. Carly Lynch scored once and scooped two ground balls. Olivia Quinty scored once. Goalkeepers Ashlyn Quigley and Caitlin McDonald each recorded five saves.
Samantha Allen scored three goals for River Dell. Hope Arturi netted two goals and an assist. Megan Hartnett had a goal and an assist. Mia Kurtz scored once.
