Crusaders Handle Hackettstown, Take Down Dayton Laxmen, 20-5

The 13-4 AL Johnson High School boys lacrosse team jumped out to an 11-1, first-quarter lead en route to an 18-5 victory over Hackettstown on May 14. On May 18, the Crusaders improved their record to 15-4 with a 20-5 take down of the 10-7 Dayton Bulldogs.

Rob Tyra fired in six goals and dished out four assists against Hackettstown. Julian Bencivegna finished with three goals and two assists. Adrian Varona had two goals and two assists. Lucas Spearnock scored twice. Jack Forfa and Matt Robertazzi each had a goal and two assists. Jack Kalikas had a goal and an assist. Nic Carlucci scored once. Joey Ortega won all 27 of his face-offs and scooped 23 ground balls. Dan Robertazzi scooped three ground balls. Goalkeepers Jake Szarszewski and Brayden Severini recorded five saves and one save, respectively.

Tyra netted seven goals and an assist against the Bulldogs. Matt Robertazzi had four goals and two assists. Spearnock had two goals and three assists. Varona had four goals and an assist. Forfa had two goals and two assists. Bencivegna had a goal and three assists. Kalikas had a goal, two assists and four ground balls. Ortega won 19 of 27 face-offs, scooped 25 ground balls and had an assist. Xander Cistaro had an assist and two ground balls. Szarszewski recorded 15 saves.
