Westfield Rotary Helps Homeless Veterans
WESTFIELD — Despite the sacrifices of the many brave veterans who have volunteered to protect their country, many are left with lasting physical or mental wounds (PTSD) as a result of war. Tragically, this leads to an average of 22 veterans taking their own lives every day, totaling over 7,000 suicide deaths each year. America loses more soldiers to suicide than in combat. While the Veterans Administration system offers some support, Rotary clubs are stepping in to fill the gaps and provide further necessary aid.
