CLARK — Clark Police Department Patrol units were dispatched Sunday at 3:58 p.m. to LA Fitness, located at 1255 Raritan Road, Clark. The initial dispatch was for a patron who had been stabbed in the throat.
CLARK — Clark Police Department Patrol units were dispatched Sunday at 3:58 p.m. to LA Fitness, located at 1255 Raritan Road, Clark. The initial dispatch was for a patron who had been stabbed in the throat.
Upon arrival, responding units determined that a male patron had been stabbed in the throat by an acquaintance with a boxcutter. The suspect was not on scene, having fled the area prior to the arrival of patrol officers. The victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark, where he was treated and released.
The initial and follow-up investigations led to a suspect being charged and arrested on Monday. He was identified as Antonio Lampon, 22, of Scotch Plains. Lampon was charged with first degree Attempted Murder (2C:11–3Al), second degree Aggravated Assault (2C:12-1B1), third degree Aggravated Assault (2C:12-1B2), third degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (2C:39-4D), fourth degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (2C:39-5D) and fourth degree Certain Persons Not to Possess Weapons (2C:39-7 A). The suspect was lodged in the Union County jail pending a detention hearing.
