William ‘Bill’ Taylor, 82, Worked In Real Estate, Technology and Banking
William (Bill) C. Taylor, 82, who cherished his family and friends, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Kindred Hospital The Palm Beaches in Riviera Beach, Florida. He is predeceased by his parents, Dick and Kate Taylor, as well as his siblings, Sandy, Tom and David.
Born on October 26, 1942, in Shaker Heights, Ohio, Bill moved to Westfield, New Jersey, in 1957. He graduated from Westfield High School and initiated a successful career in real estate, beginning as an agent for Barrett & Crain. He later opened the Schlott office in Westfield before establishing the Weichert office, where he eventually rose to the position of East Coast Manager. During this time, he authored the training manual for new agents.
After his tenure at Weichert, Bill partnered with a former colleague to open the Westfield Century 21 office, Taylor & Love. Throughout his years in Westfield, Bill enjoyed a dynamic lifestyle, having lived in more than six homes and owned several investment properties. He subsequently ventured into a new chapter by opening Taylor Mortgages in Red Bank, N.J., which was later acquired by DIME Bank.
Continuously seeking new adventures, Bill relocated to the West Coast and pursued further education in internet technology. He took a position with Microsoft, where he was part of the team that launched the first release of Internet Explorer. Following his time in Seattle, he moved to Boca Raton, Florida, and worked in the mortgage division of Bank of America. A nostalgic individual, Bill had a deep appreciation for Christmas, Norman Rockwell, and Americana culture. He loved assembling his Christmas Village each year and enjoyed writing stories about his youth to share with his children and grandchildren. An animal lover at heart, Bill often brought home dogs, cats, and even unique animals, including ducks, goats, and once, a baby alligator.
Bill is survived by his daughter, Allison Taylor; son, BJ (William Jr.) Taylor; son, Kevin Taylor (and wife, Julie); and daughter, Guenevere Rodrigues (and husband, Paul). He was a proud grandfather to his four grandsons: Kashon, Jack, Declan and Holden.
