The No. 9 Westfield High School boys ice hockey team made it five straight after defeating Summit, 3-1, on January 9 and crushing Glen Rock, 10-0, on January 11. After the Blue Devils victories over the Summit Hilltoppers and Glen Rock, their record rose to 10-2.

Against the 6-5-1 Hilltoppers, Aidan Wilson on an assist from Rob Petrarca, scored in the first period then Liam Reed on assists from Dan McDivitt andAndrew Lisnock, scored in the second period. Summit’s Charlie Cinquna (power play) on an assist from Ethan Nelson, tightened the score to 2-1 in the third period but Luca McLaren on an assist from Nick Benson finalized the scoring.
Blue Devil goalkeeper Troy Conover made 21 saves and Hilltopper goalkeeper Zeller Schoeb made 29 saves. Conover would make 11 saves against Glen Rock and their keeper Milo Smith would record 30 saves.
After scoring once in the first period, the Blue Devils blew the doors wide open against Glen Rock with six goals in the second period. Lisnock would finish with three goals and three assists. Jackson Chicola had two goals and three assists. Chris Smok had two goals and Tyler Bergman finished with a goal and an assist. Austen Halleran and Liam Duffy each netted a goal.
Reed and Benson each had two assists.AidanAlon, Josh Singer, Luca McLaren, Brody Esler, Blake Wotanowski, McDevitt and Luke Fitzgerald each had an assist.
