Raiders Topple Hillside, New Providence Cagers
Since falling to Westfield in late December, the Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School boys basketball team won its 10th game in 11 outings by toppling the Hillside Comets, 55-38, on January 28 then by squeaking past the New Providence Pioneers, 44-42, on January 30. The Raiders upped their record to 13-4. Seth Hunter led the Raiders against the 9-7 Comets with 13 points, including trip 3-pointers. Jack Sponheimer led the charge against the 6-11 Pioneers with 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers and going 1-for-1 from the line.
