Soon after my dear friend Ellen, from Duluth, Minnesota, teased me about my ignorance of tractors and farm equipment, I met with my primary care physician for a check-up. He loves to share his favorite childhood memories, and after listening to my heart and lungs, he paused and said, “I want to tell you about my dad’s red tractor and his doctor.” He knew I liked stories of unexpected friendships.
