The 13th-seeded Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School girls basketball team snapped a 15-15, halftime tie with a strong offensive show in the second half to defeat the 12th-seeded JP Stevens Hawks in the quarterfinal round of the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 Tournament in Edison on March 3. Two days later, the Raiders’ luck ran out when they were stung by the top-seeded, 25-5 Bayonne Bees, 65-25, in the semifinal to finish their season with an 11-17 record.
