Howard Rinn, 88
Howard Rinn, 88, a Westfield resident for 37 years, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, March 17, 2025, with his wife, Linda, by his side.
Howard was born on October 24, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Far Rockaway High School and serving in the military, he and Linda wed in 1962. He worked in the printing business in New York and started a small chain of men’s clothing stores in New Jersey in 1970. In 1973, Howard launched Nu-Plan Business Systems in Manhattan, relocating the business to New Jersey in 1982.
Howard and his family moved to Westfield in 1976, where he and Linda resided until 2013, when, upon Howard’s retirement, they moved to Boynton Beach, Florida.
At his memorial service at The Gardens of Boca Raton on Sunday, March 23, Howard was fondly remembered for his kindness, spirit of generosity, lifelong commitment to his friends, and devotion to his family. Howard was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Estelle, and his sister, Linda. He is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Linda; sons, David and Steven; daughters-in-law, Laura and Lori; grandchildren, Hayden, Kayla, Taylor and Hannah, and niece, Stephanie. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his family and friends.
