Why I’m Supporting Vik Venkataraman for Town Council

I first met Vik when we were both doing our first Washington School Show in 2022. We were astronauts exploring outer space to find Dr. Perry, the principal, who had, of course, been captured by aliens. As a new resident of Westfield, I didn’t really know many people in the area, but Vik made sure that I knew that he was a friend. Four shows and many other interactions later, I’ve gotten to know Vik better. The more I’ve gotten to know him, the more I’ve come to respect him, and he would be a great addition to the Westfield Town Council.

The first thing anyone notices about Vik is his kindness. It doesn’t matter if he’s meeting you for the first time, or you’re old friends, he always opens his heart and his home to make you feel welcome. He is genuinely interested in everyone and listens and absorbs ideas from everyone he comes across.

This year I was the Director of The Washington School Show while Vik was one of the Junior Producers. I got to really see Vik at his best during this time. He listened to the challenges and then acted to solve them, using his network of friends and family to ensure the best outcome for the whole show. This is why Vik is a great choice to represent Ward 2, someone who listens to the problems of all, and then uses all available resources to address them. I support Vik and I look forward to seeing how he works with everyone to make our town the best it can be.
